Painting with recycled paint?
As unbelievable as it sounds, yes Dekro has successfully rolled out our Green Alternative Coating Range Amoriguard A-Gain on various projects across South Africa. Including the redecoration of River Park Flats in Kuils River. Project completion is scheduled for end of 2018 and is currently being coated by Blackland industries.
Amoriguard A-Gain is an Agrement certified decorative paint based on processed wastes.
It was developed and formulated over a four year period by Prof Mulalo Doyoyo and Ryan Purchase. Not only is the A-Gain Topcoat low on VOC and other undesirable chemical substances, but most of the traditionally used fillers and extenders have been replaced by waste materials.
The “Ou Stokery” gin bar and tap room in Rawsonville recently received beautification of their substrates with our Enviro-Friendly products.
ARC Infruitec-Nietvoorbij, a member of the Crop Sciences Cluster of ARC, is located in Stellenbosch in the Western Cape. Their mandate is research and development as well as technology transfer on the breeding cultivation, protection and post-harvest technology of decidious fruit, grape vines, alternative crops and indigenous herbal teas.
The Campus has six divisions, each focussing on different aspects of fruit production.
The major portion of research and development is focused on improved crop production and mitigation of agricultural risks, but food security, as well as the sustainable use of natural resources, are also addressed. The Campus is the custodian of grapevine, deciduous fruit and wine yeast genebanks that preserve genetic resources for breeding purposes, training and comparative descriptions. It also boasts a Sterile Insect Technique Programme.
Dekro Paints provided their Wine Cellar approved coatings for the restoration of several campus buildings.
